Local charity appeals

Following work done by the disability forum group in school with our year 4 and year 5 children we are happy to encourage our parents to participate in the following event;

The Basingstoke Roll

Saturday 1st July 2017

The Malls, Castle Square (outside Primark)

The Basingstoke Roll is BDDF’s annual fundraising event. It is a treasure hunt around Basingstoke shopping centres which raises disability awareness and funds for the charity with an opportunity to promote your business and meet your CSR goals.

Your team will be in fancy dress following clues to be first to the finish line! Awards will be presented for the fastest team, the best dressed team and for the team who raises the most money. Each team can have a maximum of four people one team member must remain in the wheelchair provided at all times (this person should be able-bodied. Wheelchairs are provided). You will be expected to raise sponsorship prior to the event and your team will need to be available from 11am to 4pm on the day.

Why we run this annual event:

It costs us around £15,000 per annum to run our Charity and to help fund our free services for local Basingstoke people. You can be assured that all the money you raise for us will go directly to helping people with a disability in our community.

This is our 4th year of running The Basingstoke Roll and we are attracting more and more visitors and interest year on year. The more funds we raise the more we are able to increase awareness of disability in Basingstoke and surrounding areas by running our free disability information days; continuing to provide our extensive signpost service; and taking our films and workshop to our local primary schools as part of our drive to introduce disability awareness to children. Our Connections meetings give people with a disability the chance to meet others and make friends and network. We cannot do this without the generosity of local companies and individuals.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me, Amanda Knowles at info@bddf.org.uk or tel:01256 423869. I do hope you decide to take part in our event
