In Year 4 we are taught by Miss Whitehead (Year 4 Team Leader), Mr Drayton and Mrs Plumtree. We are also very lucky to have dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who help and support us with our learning in and out of class. This year Mrs Webb is working with Class 4, Mrs Togwell with Class 5 and Mrs Jones with Class 6.
Summer Term Topics
This term our topics are Anglo-Saxons, Electricity and Sound.
Spring term topics
During the Spring term our main topics are Volcanoes, U.K. and Europe, Living Things in their Habitats and States of Matter.
During the Autumn term we will be studying the lives of the Ancient Egyptians. Please see our attached topic web for further information.
Each week we will set 3 home learning tasks for the children. One will be an English piece another will be a Maths activity and the final piece will be a spellings that the children will need to learn. We also recommend you listen to your child read for 10 minutes 3 times a week, when possible, asking them questions about what they have read.
English and Spelling home learning will be set on a Wednesday and Maths on a Thursday. All home learning will then need to be returned the following Monday. As we are trying to develop the independence of the children it will be their responsibility to hand in their work on time.
Each week the children will have two sessions of PE a week - one indoor and one outdoor session. As ever we ask that children have their PE kits in school from Monday and take them home on a Friday. We ask this as sometimes our PE days can change depending on the weather or to fit around other events in school. Please ensure all items are named! For more information about PE kits please see our section on school uniform in the school information tab.
