Welcome to Year 3!
In Year 3 we are taught by Mrs Manton (Year Leader), Mr Harber and Mrs Hagger. We are also lucky to have dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs): Mrs Kersley, Mrs Tarry, Mrs O'Sullivan and Mrs Percy who help and support us with our learning in and out of the classroom.
The children have been sorted into one of the following of our houses:
They have been working very hard to collect housepoints for their house and are aiming to complete their Bronze awards as soon as they can.
Each week we will set 3 home learning tasks for the children. One will be an English piece, another will be a Maths activity and the final piece will be spellings that the children will need to learn. We also recommend you listen to your child read for at least 10 minutes 3 times a week, when possible, asking them questions about what they have read. The reading records are a useful way to share with the teacher when reading at home has taken place.
English and spelling home learning will be set on a Wednesday and Maths on a Thursday. All home learning will then need to be returned the following Monday. As we are trying to develop independence of the children it will their responsibility to hand in their home learning tasks on time. If your child forgets to take their home learning home it can be accessed below. Should you have a problem please speak to a member of our team.
Each week the children will have two sessions of PE - one indoor session and one outdoor session. As ever we ask that children have their PE kits in school from Monday and take them home on a Friday. We ask this as sometimes our PE days can change depending on the weather or to fit around other events in school. Please ensure all items are named! For more information about PE kits please see our school uniform section.
