School Council Elections
Fri 21 Sep 2018Our Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary have been very busy organising all of the classes at our polling station this morning. Each child who put themselves forward to be on the School Council prepared a talk which they delivered to their class. We will be counting the votes and announcing the new class council members next week. -
Young carers assembly
Thu 20 Sep 2018On Wednesday children in years four, five and six welcomed representatives from Basingstoke Young carers into school to talk to the children about what it means to be a young carer and asked them to consider the challenges that young carers face on a day to day basis.
If there are any young carers in school who regularly care for a family member at home we would love to know and help in any way that we can. Please speak to your child's class teacher and we can signpost parents and children towards some useful help. More details of the work of Basingstoke Young carers can be found on the useful links in the parents section of the school website

Year 6 Greek Day
Fri 14 Sep 2018Year 6 are enjoying their 'Greek Day' today! We have visitors from Ufton Court on the Road who are working with the children. Some of the children are in the hall, dressing up as Greeks and learning all about artefacts, trading and games. The rest of the children are in the classrooms learning how to draw figures using the correct proportions and creating figures in action just like on Greek pots. They will then swap groups this afternoon. All great fun! -
Year three are sorted into their new house groups
Thu 06 Sep 2018The year three children enjoyed a special assembly this morning when they all came into the hall to discover into which house group the 'house' hat decided to sort them. They had the special honour of sitting in the head teacher's chair while being sorted and wearing the special hat while the decision was made. Inspired by the Harry Potter stories the children were placed into Rowling, Newton, Farah or Gershwin house groups and immediately started earning themselves house points for their house groups. Photos of the event can be found on the year three pages.
