Ethnicity and Race Equality

At Hatch Warren Junior School we are fully committed to promoting ethnicity and race equality and ensuring that every member of our school community feels respected, valued and included. We recognise and celebrate the diversity of our pupils, families and staff and believe that this enriches the learning experience for everyone.

Our school actively promotes equality through our curriculum, assemblies, policies and daily practice. Pupils are encouraged to develop an understanding of different cultures, backgrounds and experiences so that they grow into respectful, informed and responsible members of society. We ensure that learning resources reflect a diverse range of people, cultures and perspectives so that all children can see themselves represented positively in their education.

We take a proactive approach to challenging discrimination, prejudice and stereotyping. Any incidents related to racism or discrimination are taken very seriously and are addressed promptly in line with our school policies. Staff receive guidance and training to support inclusive practice and to ensure that all pupils feel safe, supported and able to achieve their full potential.

Our commitment to ethnicity and race equality is part of our wider work to promote equality, diversity and inclusion across the school. We regularly review our policies, curriculum and practices to ensure that we continue to create a welcoming environment where every child and family feels they belong.
