The Friends of Hatch Warren Junior School - our PTA

The Friends of Hatch Warren Junior School (FHWJS) is a charity-run organisation made up of a small group of parent volunteers and members of school staff who organise fun and engaging fundraising activities throughout the year.

Our aim is to support and enhance the educational experience of all children at Hatch Warren Junior School. With the generous support of parents and the wider school community, we raise between £6,000 and £7,000 each year. These funds help provide valuable resources and experiences for the children, including:

  • Development of the school garden area

  • Tents for the Year 4 residential camp

  • Playtime equipment

  • Library books and laptops

  • Renovation of the school library

  • Part funding of the MUGA (Multi Use Games Area)

  • Support for Art and Science weeks

  • Subsidies for school trips

  • Extra treats for the children at events such as the pantomime trip, Christmas dinner and Sports Day

  • IPADS for the children

How you can help?

The committee meets approximately once every half term for around 1.5 hours, with additional meetings sometimes arranged when larger events are approaching.

Events organised in the past have included:

  • Whole school discos each term

  • Bag2School clothing collections

  • Year group art projects such as personalised tea towels

  • Christmas Fair

  • Easter Egg Hunt

  • Summer Fair

  • Year 6 Leavers’ Event

New committee members and helpers are always welcome and there is no long-term commitment required. We understand that people cannot always help at every event, so we work flexibly as a team. We are also always open to new fundraising ideas.

If you would like to join our friendly group and help make a real difference to the children and the school, please contact the school office with your name and contact details and a committee member will be in touch.

Come and get involved with our great team!
