How can I support my child through puberty?
Supporting your child through puberty
The school has a clearly defined programme which it delivers in school linked to puberty, relationships and sex education. This is detailed in the school's PSHE (Personal, Social, Health Education) policy which can be found on the school's policy page.
Puberty is taught primarily in year five and re-visited again in year six in this school. Nonetheless we recognise that children might reach puberty at different times. If this does happen to your child we would encourage parents to talk to their child's class teacher so that if necessary we can support them in school. We would also encourage parents to discuss the changes that are happening with their child. Some parents might find this a tricky subject to approach and we have therefore suggested two books which are detailed below that parents might find helpful. These books can be purchased most easily on-line.
