Friends of Hatch Warren Junior School
The Friends of Hatch Warren Junior School (FHWJS) is a charity run organisation consisting of a small group of parent volunteers and Learning Support Assistants who organise exciting fund-raising activities throughout the year.
We are dedicated to improving the educational welfare of all the children attending Hatch Warren Junior School. We raise, with the support of parents, between £6000 and £7000 each year. Funding has been donated to the school for:
- Development of the garden area;
- Tents for year 4 camp;
- Playtime equipment;
- Library Books;
- Laptops;
- Renovation of the school library;
- Part funding of the MUGA;
- Art/Science weeks
- Subsidising school trips;
- Extra treats for the children at the pantomime trip, Christmas dinner and Sports Day.
What kind of help could you give to the committee?
We meet approximately once every half term for about 1.5 hours. Sometimes more frequently if a larger event is approaching. We have typically in the past organised fundraising events such as:
- Termly Whole School Discos;
- Bag2School clothing collections;
- Art Projects such as year group personalised tea towels and personalised products;
- Christmas Fair;
- Annual Easter Egg Hunt;
- Summer Fair;
- Year 6 Leavers Event
New committee members and helpers are welcome at any time of year and are not committed to a particular length of involvement. We work flexibly together as we can’t always help at every event. We are also always looking for new fund-raising ideas. If you would like to be part of our friendly group and feel the satisfaction of making a difference for the children and the school, please contact the school office leaving your name and telephone number and/or e-mail address and a committee member will contact you directly.
Come and get involved with our great team!
